    Dear Alex:

Well…we hope the blog is not entirely devoted to the eruption. It will turn back to other things. But, we did want to let people know that a special session would take place on the volcanic ash event (now consisting of two oral sessions of 1.5 hous, a poster session, and a one hour public splinter meeting). We also wanted to give our latest update of overland travel site advice we had created to aid participants in case they needed it.
